A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per pale Argent and Sanguine, two serpents addorsed and torqued the tails entwined, in chief a parachute all counterchanged of the field. Attached above and to the side of the shield a Silver scroll inscribed COUNT ON US in Maroon letters.
Maroon and white are used for the Army Medical Corps. The shield is divided into two parts to symbolize the two theatersPacific and Europeanin which the organization served during World War II and were awarded campaign honors.
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 11th Airborne Medical Battalion on 23 October 1953. It was redesignated for the 11th Medical Battalion on 14 June 1963.
